Go green and get a government rebate

State, territory and Federal governments are committing themselves to renewable energy targets. To reach these targets, they offer rebates to consumers and businesses willing to upgrade from traditional, coal-fired electricity sources to sustainable and green energy such as solar power.

Government rebates on power supply conversion helps ease the transition to green energy. It reduces the overall starting cost of purchasing a solar power system. Our Energy Smart partner providers are experts in finding government offers and rebates on renewable and clean energy. They help each of our customers maximise the rebates and credits they’re eligible to earn when deciding to go solar.

Rebates on purchases and beyond

State and Federal governments offer instant rebates to home and business owners who decide to purchase solar power systems. This covers part of the cost on behalf of the purchaser, and your out-of-pocket cost decreases.

To further incentivise the uptake of solar power, governments also provide a further monthly rebate calculated by the amount of energy solar panel users save each month.

These rebates are known as Small Energy Credits (SECs), formerly Renewable Energy Credits (RECs.) Solar power rebates are calculated to 1 SEC per megawatt your system is estimated to produce over the next 15 years.

Energy Smart takes care of everything

We know that purchasing solar panels and inverters is a big decision. From homeowners to business proprietors, we hear no shortage of complicated questions. What will happen during a storm? Which position gets the most sunlight? How do I use it properly? Energy Smart takes care of all your concerns promptly and professionally.

A typical six to eight panel system could net you at least 31 megawatts of power over that 15 year lifetime. Adding further panels and a larger inverter, you can earn even more SECs. Earn more, save more.

These renewable energy rebates help you save money in the short term. Your new solar power system itself saves you money in the long-term. How? By offsetting your power use from the grid. Want to know more? Contact us for 3 no-commitment quotes.

Earn money from electricity providers

Did you know solar power can not only save you money but make you money? It’s true: when your energy efficient solar power system produces a surplus of electricity and sends it back into the grid, your electricity provider will pay you a credit for doing so. Yes, it’s like you sending the power company a bill!

In addition, state governments may also pay you a monthly surplus credit for helping keep carbon emissions down.

So why not convert to solar today? Our experienced providers’ consultants are waiting to help. It’s quick and easy to get a quote.

One of the biggest benefits of solar power is the government incentives that come with converting your power supply. The government does this as a way to offset the large initial cost of converting to solar energy as well as to help people and businesses produce cleaner, renewable power.

Rebates for the Initial Investment

The rebates offered to solar power users come from both the Federal and State governments. Solar power users will receive an up-front rebate for their initial solar power system purchase. They will also collect a monthly rebate based on the amount of energy they are saving each month.

When you pay for the initial system and its installation you will receive STC’s or Small Energy Credits. These credits were formerly known as REC’s or Renewable Energy Credits. Your total rebate is calculated as 1 STC for every megawatt your system is estimated to yield for the next 15 years.

A 6-8 panel solar power system typically generates about 1.5 kilowatts. Over 15 years, this comes out to about 31 megawatts of power. That means you receive 31 STC’s. Depending on the size of the solar power system you require, you could receive even more rebate credits.

Credit from Your Electricity Provider

Solar power is a great way to supplement or replace your existing electrical power. The sun and your solar power system will provide you with free energy that can reduce or completely get rid of your power bill. That’s free power for you.

In addition to saving money, you could also be earning money from your electricity provider. For all the surplus energy your solar power system generates and sends back into the power grid, your electricity provide will credit you for it. The state government may also credit you for this monthly energy surplus.

So what are you waiting for? You could be saving money, making money and enjoying a clean, efficient solar power system in just days.
