Solar water heated systems

As we all know there are various uses of solar energy & in addition to the previous articles we will be now highlighting a most common use of solar energy, that are the Solar Water Heated systems. Solar Water Heating systems have become popular in recent years due to rising costs of traditional energy and environmental care. However, solar water heating is not new, in ancient times, water was placed in urns and bowls in the sun to provide hot water for bathing. During the frontier days of America, the water was placed in buckets in the sun to heat.

Today, solar water heater mounted on the roof of a house and are fairly unobtrusive. A thin roof plate or several plates to collect the sun’s rays can be seen in many homes, both new and old. The owners of these homes enjoy lower energy bills each month. They also know they use green energy and reduce their impact on the fragile environment of the Earth by contributing less to greenhouse effect and global warming trends.

For many families, solar water heating systems can provide all the necessary hot water. Location, design, how the Solar Panels installed and the number and size of the collector box will affect the quantity of hot water. Most families opt for the traditional water heating will continue to be hot water supply in periods where the weather results in less hot water production of solar water heating system.

What makes a solar water heating system? Most solar water heating systems consist of a hot water boiler, a solar box or boxes that rays of the sun and absorb energy, and active water heating pump and controls are needed.

Passive Solar Systems = A passive water heating system powered by the sun is the simplest solar water heater system available. The water tank is often in the Solar Collector box and is stored in the tank. The water in the storage tank integrated into the solar heat and hot water is turned on, water comes out of the tank and into the house. More cold water enters the tank to the tank to fill to capacity. This type of system is best used in mild climates. These systems are often used for heating swimming pools that are used only during the summer in colder climates.

Active Solar Water Heating Systems = An active solar water heating is the most common type used in the United States. It includes a pump that moves water from the cold water in the solar collector which is often made with small copper tubing, and heating the pump moves the hot water in a covered, well-insulated storage tank for use on demand.

Solar Collector Types = The most common design used for solar hot water system consists of a copper plate, painted black, the water pipe is attached to or just above. While the sun’s rays fall on the plate, they are included creating heat. The heat from the sun heats the water in the pipes above or connected to the copper plate. Once the water is heated in an active system, is moved to the storage tank for use when needed.

Integral solar water heating collectors to combine the function of the solar panel. This is the method used in most of passive solar water heating systems. Some active water heating systems use this design too, but this is not the most common type of solar home solar water heating systems. These are often used for pool heating instead of the entire water heating needs of the household.

An evacuated or vacuum tube solar water heating collectors using a group of tubes filled with a liquid, often diluted antifreeze. Because the liquid medium is kept in a vacuum, has little of the absorbed solar heat is lost. The heated fluid is then used to water running through pipes heated by the liquid medium heat evacuated. These collectors are almost always the roof and can be used for pool heating, domestic water and even for home heating.
