Can I install an attic fan(s) without cutting through the roof or attic side wall?
I know I may be asking too much, but please bear with me. I live in an HOA community, so any alterations to the roof or outside walls are prohibited.
I have checked online and seems the kind of attic fans that exist today involve cutting through the roof (electrical or solar) or side wall (gable). So, do you know of an attic fan [that could work for my situation] that sucks cool air from inside the house through the ceiling and blows hot air out the attic through the attic’s existing ventilation?
I don’t mind having a fan visible from inside of the house. I guess that’s the trade-off that I have to live with if I can’t attach anything outside.
Thanks in advance for any helpful responses.
pickmefirstplz, I don’t have an open gable, unfortunately. The only openings for ventilation are small holes across the sides. I don’t know if this is uncommon, my house was built in 1988.
if you have a gable thats open they make fans that attach to the gable
